South Kuta Hotels
When going on a holiday we all have different preferences as where we would like to stay and what makes us comfortable varies from person to person. What makes Bali such a great holiday destination is the variety of accommodation on offer. South Kuta hotels offer accommodation for every budget, from young students, middle class and the more affluent members of society.
The hotels in South Kuta are categorized along the same lines as the rest of Bali and you will find the same assortment of accommodation anywhere that you want to stay. The basic hotels offer budget rooms that are not fancy, but are always clean and tidy and are very cheap for those on a really tight budget. Then you will find places that offer moderate accommodation that have a few extra facilities like their own restaurant and bar. Next are the superior types of places that will be rated by stars, generally from 3-5 stars and offer you better views and more personalized service.
Deluxe hotels are 4-5 stars that as you expect will be of a much higher standard with pretty much all that you need to relax on your holiday without venturing too far. These places will have in-house spas, massages and shopping areas. Then is you really want to splash out you can go for pure luxury, these are the top hotels that are all over Bali and South Kuta luxury hotels are some of the finest to be found on the island. Everything found in these establishments is 5 stars, the restaurants, bars, coffee shops and shops, they offer everything that the other hotels have plus a lot more, pampered is a good way to describe how you will feel when staying there.
The ratings and variety of places to stay is not limited to hotels as there are other types of places to stay if you would rather not be limited to staying in a room or suite. South Kuta’s villas are another option that many people are choosing to stay at. Unfortunately it is impossible to find any budget villas; these are marketed more for the tourist with a bit of money to spend, obviously depending on what country you are coming from will depend on our idea of a budget villa. For the majority of people coming from America, Europe, Australia etc the rates of these villas will seem fairly low. A standard villa will be situated on the beach or in a natural surrounding where you can sit back and enjoy the view. There will be at least one restaurant that you can visit, room service will be standard and even if you don’t have a beachfront villa there will be an area that is on the seashore where you can sit. Then there are the villas that offer you that exclusive service that gives you total privacy to your own little piece of beachfront property and a private pool.

One of Bali’s most popular tourist destinations is Kuta and situated a little further south is South Kuta another majestic paradise of white sand, blue sea, breathtaking views and beachfront accommodation. Being so close the tourist haven of Kuta, South Kuta hotels are built and designed along the same lines as those in Kuta, to give you an overall view of the beach and island. The majority of people who visit Bali will come to visit the white sandy beaches and clear blue seas that are in and around Kuta. The transformation of this area has been quite dramatic and completely changed the way that the local people now make a living. The thought process that has gone into creating a tourist paradise here was obviously very well planned out, the result is not only an exciting and vibrant place to take a vacation, but the surrounding natural beauty that is such a integral part of Bali has been preserved and every effort has been made to enhance your visit by making sure that you are always surrounded with a spectacular view of either the beach or some tropical garden. The tourism peak season in Bali is during the dry season (April-September), the wet season (October-March) is also popular, but the hotels are not as busy as the majority of people visiting Bali are looking to soak up the sun and enjoy the outdoor activities on offer. No matter when you choose to visit it is always advisable to plan and book in advance. There is nothing worse to the start of a holiday than having just got off the plane and you have to spend hours driving around trying to find a place to stay. You could end up having to stay in a less than adequate hotel or even worse not finding any place at all.
The majority of South Kuta hotels have a website that you can book your stay through and make the start to your holiday and easy one. Having a hotel pre booked is especially important if you are traveling a long distance to get to Bali. After a 10 hour flight the last thing most people want to do is go gallivanting around. It is best to head straight from the airport, drop your bags and relax for a few hours and get some shut eye.
Heading to Bali for a holiday the first time can be extremely exiting, saying that heading to Bali for the tenth time is also exiting. The facilities, activities, range of South Kuta accommodation overlooking mountains, beaches, rain forests and volcanoes that are available can be overwhelming if you don’t plan ahead. There is tons of information to read here, detailing all the various activities and places mentioned. Take time to go through everything to get a general idea of what to expect. It doesn’t matter if this is your first or tenth visit, there is plenty to do and see and making sure all the arrangements have been done before you leave will let you get on with your holiday without any stress.
The reason most people go to Bali is because of the beaches, but spending time in one resort for your whole holiday would mean missing out on so much that Bali has to offer, the culture, the volcanoes, the mountains, try spending at least a few days away from the beach and mingle with the Balinese people, experience the cultural side of Bali.
When booking into one of the South Kuta hotels or villas ask the receptionist if they can suggest a hotel in another area that you would like to visit. They will only offer advice on good ones as they are interested in you custom so wouldn’t send you tone that is unsuitable. Always make sure that if you book well in advance, make sure that you get confirmation of your booking and a couple of weeks before your trip re confirm that your room is still available.
Having a holiday in Bali will leave you feeling rejuvenated and ready to tackle the real world again. To ensure that your holiday is a pleasant one and not marred by easily avoidable mishaps, use some common sense and don’t forget that you are on holiday this is when people tend to let their guard down.
Keep your valuables, jewelry and most importantly your credit cards and passport in a safe place. Never leave them unattended, if your hotel has safes use them. Each hotel will charge differently, but it is worth the extra cost than having to deal with the problems that are caused by lost passports and credit cards.
The tourist areas of Bali are well maintained and generally clean. If you are going to be doing any traveling outside these areas there are a few things to keep in mind.
Monkeys are all over the island and can be a major problem, if they are around keep all your loose items in a bag and hold it close to you. The problem is that people feed them and they have got used to getting something from tourists, if you have no food they will snatch your jewelry, glasses or anything else that is hanging loose. If they do grab something and it is important like a pair of glasses throw some food close to them and they will drop the item to pick up the food. Be careful where they are sitting though, you don’t want your glasses falling down a cliff.
The other animal to be careful of is the hundreds of dogs roaming around Bali, never feed them or touch them. Rabies is still a problem in Bali and you don’t want to end up in hospital on vacation. These dogs are generally timid so a loud shout should chase them away. It is horrible to see these animals running around, skinny, hungry and covered in various sores and bites, but this is something that is very common in Indonesian countries so feeling sorry for them is kind but leave it at that.
When traveling into the more rural areas you will come across some, how to put it, less than desirable toilet facilities. Always carry a roll of toilet paper with you, even some budget hotels don’t have any, and some hand cleaner. If you end up looking around for the handle to flush the toilet and are scratching your head, look left or right next to the bowl. The bucket with the scoop in, that’s what you are looking for, scoop the water and flush, all part of the experience.
Most of the temples in Bali require you wear a sarong when entering. You can rent one at each temple as you visit, but if you intend to visit many temples it is a good idea to buy your own when you arrive or bring one from home.
